Sean Axelrod was born in 1954 in Kibbutz Beit-Alpha in Northern Israel. He graduated from Jerusalem's Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in 1981, and continued his studies in New York, graduating in 1986 with a Master of Fine Art from Pratt Institute.

Sean exhibits in the USA, Israel, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and Japan. During his career, he has had 9 solo exhibitions and has participated in 22 group exhibitions. His works feature in numerous private and public collections around the world.

Sean has resided in Melbourne, Australia since 1988 and continues his creative exploration through combining a range of disciplines including photography, installation sculpture, jewelry making and painting. His work explores the edges between two and three dimensions in art, as well as the parameters between narrative and abstraction. Sean sees his work as a visual form of story-telling from his own personal point of view.
